about

BonBon Jenkins is originally from Queensbridge in New York City. However fate would take him to Oakland, CA when he was only 8 years old. He never really got into music as a child. He enjoyed pick up sports games like basketball and football. He was always throwing a ball around with neighborhood friends. He played professional basketball in Israel for one year after a five year stint at Southern Cal. During his freshman year he broke 17 bones in a freak football accident. After practice one day a teammate challenged him to jump over a trash can while catching two footballs being thrown at him from different directions. He took the challenge. Just before he launched in the air his left foot hit an unseen crevice in the ground. This made his jump slighting lower than average. As a result his right foot slapped the top of the trashcan knocking it over. Bewildered he quickly threw his hands up to catch the footballs. In so doing his fingernail on his right index finger caught his left nostril, throwing his head straight up and back. One ball hit him square in the face breaking several sensitive face muscles while the other ball hit him in his endowment area. These pelts to the face and groin sent him flying into the pavement where he broke several more bones in his right leg, left arm, and both feet. He stopped playing football and walked on to the basketball team. Made the cut and went on to be a division one all star. He was drafted by the Israeli heat. But during his first season he collided with Germany’s Frauncegdk Dlkoufkco and went soaring into the ground. He pulled a back muscle and the pain that ensued was devastating. He quickly became addicted to painkillers and was released from the team after just one season. BonBon started panhandling near the Gaza Strip. That’s where he met a young woman named Natalie. Natalie was a nice Jewish woman who played piano. Not wealthy, but she took special attention to BonBon even giving him piano lessons to help him cope with all the pain. Just as he did with sports, he picked up playing the piano instantly. With Natalie’s help, BonBon began playing piano at neighborhood cafes and made enough money to rent a small, one room apartment. He would love to get back to his roots and find a Queensbridge or Oakland rapper to jump on his piano chops.
