Belly Dina (LEASE)

from Beats Without Homes by Everybody's Hip-hop

/

about

You can call Belly Dina homeless if you want to, but she won’t accept that title. Born Cassandra Carson in 1969, she grew up a child of the sexual revolution. Her parents were traveling gypsies so ‘home’ became an abstract idea at a young age. She travels from city to city enjoying every moment. Belly doesn’t know a stranger. When she was 19 years old a much older women came strangling around the corner. This woman no doubt was on some hard, psychedelic drugs. The woman looks at then Cassandra and says, “Belly Dina, where have you been my entire life?” The next week Cassandra legally changed her name to Belly Dina. Ms. Dina will work with anyone - rapper, singer, yodeler, etc…
